Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 10, 2026

This Privacy Policy describes how ClarionTech Ltd ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, stores, and protects information when you use the CleanNow mobile application (the "App").

By using the App, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

1. Information We Collect

CleanNow is designed to operate primarily on your device. Depending on the features you choose to use, the App may access or process the following information.

  • Photo and video library: CleanNow may access your photo and video library to scan, group duplicates, identify similar media, compress videos, organize files, and support cleanup features. Media files are processed locally on your device and are not uploaded to our servers.
  • Secret Space content: If you use private vault or Secret Space features, related files are stored and managed locally on your device.
  • Mailbox data: If you connect a Gmail, Outlook, Hotmail, Live, Microsoft 365, or other supported email account, CleanNow may access mailbox data only to provide the Email Cleaner feature, as described below.
  • Diagnostic data: We may receive anonymous or aggregated crash logs, performance metrics, device diagnostics, and technical information to improve stability and fix bugs.
  • Purchase information: Purchases and subscriptions are handled by Apple's App Store. We do not receive your full payment card details.

2. Email Cleaner

Email Cleaner is optional. CleanNow accesses email data only if you choose to connect an email account and grant the requested permissions.

CleanNow uses email data to group messages by sender, identify cleanup candidates, display sender and message previews, show email counts, and let you choose actions such as keep, delete, block, or unsubscribe.

Depending on the email provider and the actions you choose, CleanNow may process message metadata such as sender, recipient, subject, timestamps, folder or label information, message IDs, thread IDs, headers, unsubscribe-related headers, and limited message preview information needed to display cleanup options.

CleanNow does not sell email data, does not use email data for advertising, does not use email data to train artificial intelligence or machine-learning models, and does not allow humans to read your email data unless required for security, legal compliance, or support requested by you with your explicit consent.

Email data is processed on your device. OAuth tokens are stored securely on your device using iOS Keychain and are not sent to ClarionTech Ltd servers. Cached email metadata is removed when you disconnect the email account or delete the App.

3. Google User Data and Gmail

If you connect a Gmail account, CleanNow may request access to Gmail data through Google APIs only to provide Email Cleaner functionality.

CleanNow may request the following Google API permissions:

  • https://www.googleapis.com/auth/gmail.modify — used to read, organize, and modify selected Gmail messages, including grouping messages by sender, showing cleanup candidates, moving selected messages to Trash, and applying cleanup actions selected by you.
  • https://www.googleapis.com/auth/gmail.settings.basic — used to view, create, or update Gmail settings and filters needed for sender blocking and cleanup rules selected by you.

These permissions may technically allow broader access than CleanNow uses. CleanNow requests them because Gmail may not provide a narrower permission that supports both identifying cleanup candidates and applying user-confirmed cleanup actions.

If you choose a cleanup action, CleanNow may modify selected Gmail messages, labels, filters, or mailbox settings only as directed by you in the App.

You can revoke CleanNow's access to your Google Account at any time at: https://myaccount.google.com/permissions

CleanNow's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

4. Microsoft User Data and Outlook

If you connect a Microsoft Outlook, Hotmail, Live, Microsoft 365, or other Microsoft email account, CleanNow may request access to Microsoft mailbox data through Microsoft Graph only to provide Email Cleaner functionality.

CleanNow may request the following Microsoft Graph delegated permissions:

  • Mail.ReadWrite — used to read mailbox messages needed for cleanup suggestions and to move or modify selected messages when you choose a cleanup action.
  • MailboxSettings.ReadWrite — used to read or update mailbox settings needed to create cleanup or blocking rules selected by you.
  • User.Read — used to read basic profile information needed to identify the connected Microsoft account.
  • offline_access — Microsoft may display this permission to allow the App to maintain access you have granted, so you do not need to sign in again every time. CleanNow uses this only to keep the Email Cleaner connection available after you grant permission.

These permissions may technically allow broader access than CleanNow uses. CleanNow uses Microsoft mailbox data only to provide Email Cleaner features selected by you.

If you choose a cleanup action, CleanNow may move selected messages to Deleted Items, create or update mailbox rules, or perform other mailbox actions only as directed by you in the App.

You can revoke CleanNow's access to your Microsoft account at any time. For personal Microsoft accounts, you can manage app access at: https://account.live.com/consent/Manage

For work or school Microsoft accounts, you can review or revoke application permissions through your Microsoft Entra My Apps portal or by contacting your organization administrator: https://myapps.microsoft.com

Your use of Microsoft services remains subject to Microsoft's own terms and privacy policies.

5. How We Use Information

We use information to provide the App's cleanup, compression, private storage, and Email Cleaner features.

We may also use information to maintain, troubleshoot, protect, and improve the App, respond to support requests, detect abuse or security issues, comply with legal obligations, and enforce our Terms of Use.

6. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.

We may share limited information only when necessary with service providers acting on our behalf, such as crash reporting, analytics, hosting, infrastructure, or support providers, under confidentiality and data protection obligations.

We may also disclose information if required by applicable law, legal process, regulatory request, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of ClarionTech Ltd, users, third-party services, or the public.

7. Data Retention

Media processed by CleanNow remains on your device unless you choose to move, delete, export, or otherwise manage it.

Email OAuth tokens are stored on your device using iOS Keychain. Cached email metadata is removed when you disconnect the relevant email account or delete the App.

Diagnostic data may be retained for up to 12 months and then deleted or anonymized, unless a longer period is required for security, legal, or compliance reasons.

8. Children's Privacy

CleanNow is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.

9. Your Rights

Depending on your location and applicable law, including GDPR and CCPA where applicable, you may have rights to request access to, correction of, deletion of, restriction of, objection to processing of, or portability of your personal data.

You may also withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.

To exercise your rights, contact us using the email address below.

10. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect information processed by the App.

However, no method of transmission, storage, or processing is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.

11. International Transfers

If diagnostic, support, or operational data is transferred outside your country or region, we rely on appropriate safeguards where required by applicable law, such as Standard Contractual Clauses or other recognized transfer mechanisms.

12. Third-Party Services

The App may interact with third-party services, including Apple, Google, Microsoft, Gmail, Outlook, Microsoft Graph, crash reporting providers, analytics providers, and subscription management systems.

Third-party services are governed by their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the practices of third-party services.

13. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we may notify you inside the App or by updating this page.

The "Last updated" date above shows when this Privacy Policy was most recently revised.
